Daughter of Francis and the late Maureen Smith, sister of Alicia Hayes (John) Christopher Smith (Aaron) Maureen Maloney(Matt) Sarah O’Sullivan(John) aunt of 10. Karen dedicated her life to supporting the medically fragile special needs community of the metropolitan area, most recently as Educational Director of the International Hope Academy. (IHOPe) Services will be on Thursday Feb 27 and Friday Feb 28th at New Hyde Park funeral home 2-4:30pm & 7-9:30pm. Mass of Christian burial on Saturday Feb 29th ,10:30am at Holy Spirit Church in New Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers an educational fund has been set up for the three Tumulty Children.
