OBITUARY
Barbara Driscoll passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years in the home where she raised her children. She was predeceased by her husband Jack to whom she was happily married for 56 years. Barbara and Jack enjoyed a long life together full of laughter and joy through good and hard times. She was the loving mom of Suzanne (and Andy), John, and Patricia, and she dedicated her life to her family.
Barbara created a rich life full of love for her children. She was creative and omnipresent, and through her roles as a short-order chef at breakfast, lunch-bag artist, and costume-designer at Halloween, Barbara created a happy and fun home. The staff at her children’s elementary school would emerge from their offices every morning to have a peek at Barbara’s lunch bag artwork. She was a relentless advocate for the light of her life, her son John, who has special needs, and her advocacy helped him immeasurably and opened doors for other families.
Barbara was a proud, loving, and very doting grandma to Tim, Ali, Emily, Nina, and Teo. She dedicated a special drawer in the middle of the kitchen to toys, crayons, coloring-books, and all sorts of fun activities for the grandkids. She could not get enough of her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. She’d deck the house with holiday decorations, bake tins of designer cookies, cook a feast, and shower her grandchildren with gifts.
Barbara was also a caring sister to Bob, Dan, and Linda. She adored her siblings and her many nieces and nephews. She loved the the day-to-day interactions with her family as much as the time together at gatherings, special events, and reunions.
Barbara will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ACDS, a lifetime services agency that serves families of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities, including her son John.
