1932 - 2025

Edna Irene Allan, from Utica, New York, formerly of New Hyde Park, New York, passed away March 6, 2025, peacefully in her sleep. Mrs. Allan was born in 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to Harry and Edna Ammon.
Edna graduated from Freeport High School and went on to work as an executive secretary in several positions including, The Fleischmann Liquor Corporation. Edna was very active in The Eastern Star Organization and with her church, Trinity Lutheran of New Hyde Park, both as parishioner and secretary for many years. Edna resettled to the Masonic Home in Utica in 2017 to be closer to family, sharing many special moments.
Edna loved gardening and watching all the colorful birds, especially red Cardinals: “Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow”.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Allan, her brother Harry Ammon, and her sister Harriet and brother-in-law Tom Henck, as well as her nephews, Thomas and Timothy Henck. She is survived by her loving family, her sister-in-law, Mary Ammon, her nephews, Jim Henck (Jeannine), Danny Ammon (Wendy), Eric Ammon, and nieces Suzanne Bachman (Bill), Judy Konicki (Chris), Kathy Henck, and Deb Henck, as well as a number of loving great and great great nieces and nephews. Edna was well loved.
