OBITUARY
The Vitale family is sad to announce that Jacqueline Vitale, our beloved Aunt, Sister and Daughter has passed away after a long battle with several ailments. She was 78 years old and is survived by her sister, nieces and nephews. Jacqueline ( Jackie ) was an accomplished seamstress and pattern maker who worked in the garment and fashion industry her entire life. She shared her talent with people from a wide spectrum, from the neighborhood to Broadway. Whether altering a dress for her friend down the block or taking in a jacket for a theater performer, Jackie would do it perfectly.
Jackie, to most of the family was a fun yet stern aunt. She absolutely loved children and was never happier than when she was with them and around them. She loved 50’s & 60’s music. One of her prized possessions besides her sewing machines, was her 60’s vintage record player which was used often. We are sorry to have lost her but at least we have many, many fond memories to look back on, her singing not withstanding ( inside joke ). Another thing Jackie was good at was making classic Italian tomato sauce. From the farm to the plate, Jackie made a sauce that was clamored for. Some of us would stop by from as far as down the block, and at all hours of the night to get a jar.
Jackie will be sorely missed by us and we’re certain, all of those who knew her. She touched everyone who she encountered in so many wonderful ways, none of which are likely to be forgotten. She will be in our hearts forever.
