OBITUARY
Richard Zielonka, a loving father, brother and son, passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 67 in Seaford, Delaware. Born in Brooklyn, Richard leaves behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to his profession at the United States Postal Service.
Richard is survived by his sisters Terry Hayes and Christine Mayer, eldest son Richie Zielonka, daughter Tiffany Zielonka, youngest son Joseph Zielonka and his grandchildren Elijah and Julian Raghoonanan. He is preceded in death by his wife Susan Zielonka, brother John Zielonka, sister Cecilia Chaoush, and partner Randi Hoffman.
He was a wonderful man who led a life that revolved around his three children - Richie, Tiffany and Joe. They were and will continue to be his pride and joy. The loss of his early wife, and mother to his children, was a tragedy that he maneuvered with strength. He continued on, devoted to his children, working tirelessly to ensure his family was taken care of entirely. While working full time he raised his kids giving them the childhood anyone would hope for. Giving and caring were true to his nature. In his later years he retired to Delaware with his partner Randi, where he took enormous joy in caring for the wildlife in his yard. He cared dearly for Randi and this was clear as he took on the role of caregiver in her last fighting years on earth. Even from afar, he cherished his grandchildren, sharing his love for Hess trucks with them. Simply put, he was everyone’s friend. This speak volumes to what kind of person he was. His departure from earth has been felt deeply by many. Gone too soon, but forever in our hearts.
The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to New Hyde Park Funeral Home in New Hyde Park, NY.
